Recovery doesn’t have to happen alone.
At SAIL, our Men’s and Women’s Support Groups have been helping survivors connect with others who understand for many years. For some, the thought of joining a group can feel daunting—but many of those who now attend tell us they almost didn’t come.
Support groups offer a safe, confidential and trauma-informed space where you can listen, share when you’re ready, and connect with others who have experienced similar journeys.
Members have told us that the groups have helped them:
- Â Feel less alone.
- Â Build meaningful connections.
- Â Gain a better understanding of trauma and recovery.
- Develop practical coping strategies and renewed hope for the future.
As one member shared:
“It made me feel less isolated.”
Another simply said:
“I felt welcomed and heard.”
We’ve recently added dedicated Men’s Support Group and Women’s Support Group pages to our website, where you can learn more about what to expect, read anonymous feedback from previous group members, and explore whether a support group could be the right next step for you.
Support groups are available to SAIL clients following an initial assessment, helping us ensure the group is the right support for your individual needs.
If you’ve experienced childhood sexual abuse, incest or sexual violence and would like to find out more about the support we offer, we’d love to hear from you.
