Talking about your feelings can be very frightening but it can help to breakdown feelings of isolation and resolve feelings of guilt and shame. It can also help people to find their own solutions to manage or overcome their pain. We offer individual weekly counselling for up to six months, or even longer if the need arises.

FAQ’s

Is counselling for me?

Not every survivor of sexual, physical or emotional abuse understands the connection between their experiences and the difficulties they are now experiencing. Some people find it very difficult to acknowledge the reasons behind their current struggles, depression, low self-esteem, guilt, eating or sleeping disturbances and difficultly trusting people. These are just some of the ways in which abuse can have a lasting impact on mental wellbeing. Regardless of how much time has passed since the abuse ended, sharing your experiences, when you are ready to do so, can have a powerful healing effect.

What other services do you provide?

We run a range of other services, from time to time, in support of our three main services. If you are interested to find out more about any of the following then please get in touch with us:

Art therapy - This is an accessable form of therapy which provide emotional support and utilises creative art as a mode of healing.

Drama therapy - Enables people to find their true potential in a private space to work through problems.

Group counselling -This consists of ten weekly, two hour sessions.
