Could You Make a Difference with SAIL?

Aug 4, 2026

Are you looking for a meaningful volunteering opportunity where your time, skills and compassion can make a real difference?

SAIL is currently looking for Helpline Volunteers and Volunteer Counsellors to join us in supporting people affected by sexual violence and abuse across Derbyshire.

Helpline Volunteers

Our SAIL helpline provides a safe and confidential space for people to be heard, supported and given information about the services available to them.

We’re looking for volunteers who can offer a compassionate, non-judgemental and supportive listening ear.

Volunteer Counsellors & Student Placements

We welcome applications from counsellors who would like to volunteer their time and skills with SAIL, as well as counselling students looking to complete the placement hours required as part of their studies.

A placement with SAIL offers the opportunity to develop counselling experience within a specialist service, while supporting victim-survivors of sexual violence and abuse.

If you are currently studying counselling and looking for a placement, we’d be very happy to hear from you.

Interested in joining us?

Whether you’re interested in volunteering on our helpline, volunteering as a counsellor, or completing a counselling placement with SAIL, you can find out more and apply here:

Give your time. Develop your experience. Help us continue to be there for those who need us.
